Hi, Lupe may have talked about some of the things you referred to but you have to take the context of what he is saying, he it not glorifying or bragging at all. I the first song he is actually asking for forgiveness from God for some of the thing he did while he was young(He grow up in one of the roughest hood in America).
Secondly, Goldwatch is nice song, an again he is pointing out hes hypocrisy in that song, while other N****s like gold watches and chains , he also like other material things. Its a very conscious song.
agreed. lupe's new album is a conscious dig on his persona built up from his previous debut album Food & liquor. There his persona was geek chic, now it's not. lupe was born middle class and not from the elk of s.carter or nas. but yes his astuteness on his songs are refreshing. whatever the case, he is talented.
