they ran the news bulletin about the chikugunya fever outbreak in italy.

the professor giving his view called singapore's government "authoritarian" and "tyrannical".

let me put it into context. he said that the singapore and cuba government have proven to be most effective at thwarting dengue and chikugunya.

more specifically, singapore's authoritarian government used a heavy-handed approach to impose fines if you let your pots and vases breed asian tiger mosquitoes.

subsequently, he said that the singapore government's tyrannical approach to handling dengue and chikungya would not work in italy where people just don't give a damn.

sounds about right.

a few new happenings recently

the iphone release. it's shiny it's sleek, every single one of us hankers for it. Apple has a knack of cult status appeal for all its products. no doubt steve jobs is nothing short of revolutionary, but people ought to know that Apple ain't all that different. they're still thieves at best.

black chamber. i chanced upon this at far east. diamond supply, alife, 10 deep. decent brands at decent prices. i wonder if they can keep their heads out of the water long enough to make an impact.

smoke-free clubs. a new first and my first in a while. cleaner air, same atmosphere. i think its a good idea. although i did see cigarette butts on the dancefloor. not long until a revolt. or the closure of both eyes. eyes on me, eyes don't see, do whatever you please.

plans and schematics. i'm pretty sure everyone's being worked to the bone. but i think somewhere, something's gone wrong. pretty please, next time we give a job to someone, make sure it's someone we believe in. i'm not convincing being a hypocrite, i'd just cop out.

it's friday friday friday! the weekend and time to get away from it all! or so i thought.

but work has to be done over the weekend, much work and never enough time. this tertiary education thing is worse than working, its a full time job with no end in sight.
